A Day In The Life Of

Here's another round of Q & A with Brandon and Marcie Brazee in Germany about the day to day kinds of things on the mission field.

What does your typical week look like?

We have church on Sundays. Kaitlyn and Hudson are in school during the week. Brandon and Marcie have a coffee outreach that they lead on Mondays and then we have various other ministry responsibilities throughout the week (small groups, meeting with people, overseeing our refugee housing, staff meetings, men's ministry, Foursquare Missions International stuff, etc.). We also are working our way through church-planting training and have German classes on Fridays. Kaitlyn has soccer practice twice a week and games usually on Saturdays. There is no girl's soccer team here, so she plays on an all-boys team.

What is like to balance your budget each month as a missionary? What are the big expenses where you live?

It's an exercise in faith, but God is good! He provides and we trust in him and work hard to steward well what he has given us. We are thankful to have had good financial training (Financial Peace University, Foursquare Missions International fundraising training) so we feel well-equipped for the task. It is also a chance to be thankful for all of those who support us financially. The biggest expenses in Germany are housing and utilities (and our kids - clothing, etc.).

How does school look for your kids?

Kaitlyn is in 5th grade, which is the first year of High School here in Germany! She goes for 5 hours a day and has a block schedule, with 3 block classes per day. Subjects include Biology, Physics, German, Math, English, Sport, Swimming, Music, Geography, Computer and Art. It is a challenge for her, but she really enjoys it. Hudson attends Kindergarten (Pre-school) 5 days a week. He is there from 8:30 am until 4 pm, but he comes home for 90 minutes at lunch.

What are activities you like to do as a hobby or relax?

Brandon: Hiking, Soccer, Reading, Disc Golf
Marcie: Coffee with friends, Shopping, Being outside in the sun
Kaitlyn: Soccer, playing with friends, Hiking
Hudson: Playing with friends, Riding on trains, swimming
