How did God lead you to be a missionary?

Brandon was called in college to be a missionary - God spoke very clearly to him that missions is what he had for Brandon's life. For Marcie, it wasn't so clear and it is quite a story. The short version is she has felt called to love people and to serve in ministry, and even though she was resistant to moving overseas, God answered some very specific prayers and gave her some unmistakable signs that missions is what he was calling her to.

What did you do before you were a missionary?

Marcie was a children's pastor for 10 years at a church in Seattle. Brandon was the young adults and missions pastor at the same church. Kaitlyn was in elementary school and Hudson was a baby:)

What advice would you give somebody who felt that God may be leading him or her to become a foreign missionary?

GO! Get as involved in missions as you can from where you are currently at. Go on some short-term trips, take the Perspectives course, and learn as much as you can about missions. Just keep moving forward and trust God to open the doors that need to be opened and to close those that need to be closed.
